This McKinsey article contains a very useful summary chart showing the four essentials for building a stronger board of directors. They are:
- Broaden the scope of competencies (see my post of Feb 10th re directors for the digital age)
- Deepen the commitment (are directors putting in enough time in this rapidly changing environment?)
- Clarify responsibilities (have you got the optimum by way of board members and their skill sets?
- Create trust (how effective is your boardroom culture?)
